...there was this newsagents by my primary and nursery school that sold Kwenchy Kups, and I loved the kola flavour, and used to buy them for 8p and take them home to freeze and turn into a jubilee.

I was talking about that at work today, and it's made me a bit homesick, or childsick, I guess. I really miss jubilees. Making your own just isn't the same. The kola one used to really stain your mouth/face/hands/the tshirt you wore to hold it cos you dropped it and used to turn it upside down.

Read this, it's funny.

What's a jubilee? I remember when Mini Milks were 10p, I think that makes me old now :(

It's what Glaswegian people call like, frozen Kwenchy Cups, or home made slushies. No one knows why!

Oh my god, I remember them being about that, or like 10-12p. Same with Hubba Bubba! I used to love HB.

My Dad wouldn't let me have bubble gum, I was banned from both that and also watching Grange Hill, boooooo! :(

Argh, no way?! I used to get given 20p for sweets and I'd buy Hubba Bubba and these golf ball minty chew things and sometimes they had sour sugar in them, they were wicked.

I never really watched much of Grange Hill, but my parents were really strict with bed times, like, pretty much until I left home at 17. So, everyone watched Prisoner Cell Block H in school and I never did cos I was sleeping. Boo.

I used to LOVE freezing my kwenchy kups. We also used to just get them ready frozen from the shop, and they were kind of tasteless a lot of the time but sometimes they'd be MEGA strong and great. And they were totally solid too... so you'd let them melt a bit in the cup and you'd drink the cold juice which tasted an awful lot like plastic. A lot of the time they'd get grass in them so you'd just be a big sticky grassy mess... or maybe that was just my tinky friends and I.

*memories*

Oh god, yes! The orange ones were crap, I thought. Ha, yes! The strong bits! I'd try to like, bite them out, so that they didn't melt away into nothingness.

Lol, that it did! I remember making a wee hole in the lid thingy with my tooth and sooking the juice out that way, and breathing at the same time so that my breath bounced off of the lid and back on to my face.

Aye, completely! Haha.

Oh oh also, whenever you just drank the kwenchy kups normally, did you bite a hole in the bottom and drink it from there? Because we all did that for some reason and I'm not sure why.

Man, I keep tasting the plasticy raspberry now and I want to enter into a massive discussion with somebody about old sweets.

We used to do that, too, but I was more of a fan of doing that from the lid at the top. And if I got a straw (if the box in the shop had any in), I'd chew it for aaaaaaaages.
